Muse, Wembley, London, 22nd November 2006…
Ok,
So we saw Muse on Wednesday 22nd Nov. 1st time I’ve seen them, and let me tell you – they rock.
I went with Dan (my bruv), and Lee (one of our bestest mates, and the Muse-worshipper of the three of us).
The show began with the support act – “The Noisettes”. Not our cup of tea, but I’m sure it’s others’.
Then came Muse…
I gotta say, it was probably the best live performance I’ve ever seen in the flesh. They’re not my favourite band (Radiohead, Elbow), but I do love them. But this was not only a great live performance, but a fantastic show.
Check out the photos. You’ll see what I mean. I personally think that a live gig should be more than just the music. It’s a visual thing as well, so any band that can take care of that, too, is a step ahead of the rest. IMHO.
They kicked-off with “Take A Bow”. The set was basically in two halves. The 1st half being pretty much the whole of the latest album (according to Lee) – “Black Holes And Revelations”. The second half was broken into a handful of songs from each of their earlier albums. Clever.
Matt was on form with his amazing voice, beautiful keyboards and guitar-prowess – as well as running around the stage and sliding across the floor in true ‘guitar hero’ style. It worked.
Dom was perfect with his drumming, and Chris was exquisite with his bass guitar work.
Top night.
Go and see ‘em…
Note the excellent lighting and background.
Without even being there, you can see how it added to the experience.
During “Knights Of Cydonia”, they had the words – “alive”, “right”, “rights” and “survive” from the chorus shown on the screen in time will Matt’s singing.
Toward the end, they released these giant baloons for the crowd to mess around with.
To freedom,

Scotty Stevens
